7/28/2005 - Yet another prop idea.....

Ideas are easy. Finding out how to make them work or happen is fun. Actually doing them with out coming up with even more ideas...........

Some really nice work on it. But nothing anyone on the forum couldn't do. I suspect that within a month or less folks will have pics of 'in progress' or finished corpses and critters like the ones pictured on the site. What I like best about them is they don't use buckys. Not even for the heads. The eye sockets on each of the corpses pictured are different. And the bodies aren't all the same as well. Looks good. They also have something that caught my imagination. One of the props is named 'cookie' and is displayed next to a tombstone. I like the stone. It got me thinking about corpsing out some stones. Using spray foam, spiderwebbing and latex paint. Then finishing them in grays, black, browns and greens. If I go ahead with this I'll need to make 9 to 15 of them for a good display. It's not like I don't have the stuff. All I would need to get is 2 or more cans of Great stuff to add to the few I have now. It's getting it done with everything else I'm doing.

Some progress on my bucky rib copies. This time it's working like a charm. I used a big paint brush to apply a 1 part white glue to 3 parts water mix. Brushed it over the aluminum first. Then I added the toilet paper one doubled square at a time. Brushing over them lightly with a damp brush to set in place. Covering everything was a breeze. One thing to note, don't push to hard with the brush when setting the toilet paper. It doesn't take to much to mush this stuff up when it's wet. My new one is almost completely dry. My fist one is still drying. LOL. I'll add the second coat of toilet paper mache today. When I finally get this how to on the web site I'm thinking I'll show it with the bucky and home made ribs. (cardboard or news paper over a body bag armature). Let folks know they don't have to spend a small fortune to get good results.

I'm also going to cut more 1 1/2 inch slats for our graveyard fence. I would like to have about 80 feet of this or more. I've got the wood. And if I do run out I can get more out of the dumpster at work.
