#8 Porch Façade pictures

Well it looks like the pictures did not load in order. The second picture is how the front of my house looks 11 months out of the year. Pictures 1, 3, 4 and 5 show some test fitting of the façade. I will need to cut the pillars from picture 5 down some to add the gargoyle in the last picture. He has a twin who and the will each adorn one of the pillars. Still working on the whole pillar concept. |

#7 Mausoleum assembled - pictures

Here are some views of the test fitting of the mausoleum. Still needs some detail work. I need to figure out what I want to do with the pillars. I think I might cut them down a little and put skulls on top. Make it look like the roof is held up by the skulls. Not happy with the flower pots that hold the pillars. I am going to add some half skulls to the roof façade |

Mausoleum
Finished the roof assembly. Glued all the skins on the frames. Bought the paint. That’s as far as I got this week end. It just too hot too fast – who would have guessed it gets hot in LA in August.

3rd instalment
Had another bitch of a time with the Mausoleum this week-end. The rafters just wouldn’t work out right. I took a look at Wormy T’s pictures and now I think I’ve got it working OK.
My wife and I went to Stats in Pasadena on Sunday. I picked up two matching gargoyles for the pillars that will be part of my front porch façade. They were just starting to get their stuff up at Stats – I’ll go back in a couple of weeks to see what more they’ve got. After Stats we went down the street to the Crown City Brewery. What a disappointment. I haven’t been there for about six years. The service, never really good is now dismal. At 2:00pm on a Sunday, with maybe 6-7 people in the bar it took 10 minutes to place a drink order. We had black and tans. Wanted to order some snacks, but another 10 minutes went by before the waiter checked on us. Told him we’d changed our minds, drank up, paid the tab – no tip and left. I don’t think we’ll be going there again.
I’m hoping to finish the mausoleum this week. Then do the crypt like the one on the Halloweenie web site. Then a lot of painting.

July 25 entry 2
Got a lot done this weekend. I took off from work on Friday. Did the framing for the
mausoleum and skinned the two sides with foam boards. The roof was a real bitch. I will work this week to finish skinning. I think I will put off painting for a while. Still have to paint the façade, so I will probably do all the painting at once.
I haven’t decided what will go in it. I don’t think I will put the FCG in it. I want to build something a little different for that. I will probably hang this new ghost that looks like the
guy from the haunted mansion and use a fan to get some movement.
Next project will be the crypt – the dress form should come in a few days. I’ll need a wig and a dress for it.
I’m gona try to get some picts up soon

First entry
Well here goes....
I've started working this weekend on this years yard haunt.
Goals for this year are;
1. Crypt facade for front porch
2. New mausoleum for FCC
3. incorporate pop-ups
4. 3-5 toe pincher caskets
I got a good start on the crypt façade. I built the frames, cut and detailed the foam. Need to paint and then can put check by this one.
Next week will be a busy week end
Unk
