Something Wal-Mart This Way Comes
It just keeps on coming! I had
probably the best shopping day so far today. Got SO much done
when my parents came up to go shopping with me and everything. We
spent the whole day getting Halloween stuff and it was a total blast!
Our first stop was a terrible terrible breakfast at the Cracker Barrel
just down the street from our house. Apparently the cook was
having a bad day and taking it out on EVERYONE. The pancakes were
so tough they could be used as pot holders. I saw that they had
lots of really really cute Halloween stuff there too including
T-shirts! They had never had this much Halloween stuff because I
actually did get to go to one last year around the beginning of October
and they had only a few things. Usually at Yule I have snowman
salt and pepper shakers and I have never been able to find any type of
Halloween ones before.. Welp, today I did! I got two
ADORABLE pumpkin salt and pepper shakers to sit on my black stove for
Halloween!! It was TOO cool.
Our second stop was Sams Club which only my parents have a card for so
usually when I need stuff from there I go with them. They had all
kinds of really cool Halloween stuff there. I did notice they had
a Gemmy Frankenstien that talked and moved and sang and did everything
but dance around in cirlces.
That was pretty awesome in itsself but I am not really looking to scare
more than I am for it to look like a huge pumpkin patch this
year. They had other things too like giant inflatable ghosts and
pumpkins and what-not.. But I think I saw the most beautiful fall
wreath I had ever seen today! And of course I got it. Was
$30, but its HUGE and filled with fall stuff! I think it was well
worth the money, and it was SO much better than anything I could have
ever made!
The third stop was of course.. BIG LOTS!! Whoo hoo!
And of course I came out of there with a CUTE Halloween Doormat to put
on the front doorstep! Althought they had a isle chart of one
section where they were supposed to have put out Halloween kitchen
stuff... And it wasn't out last time we came and it STILL wasn't
out this time. I went up to the front and asked about it and the
cashier said they were not sure but if thats all that was out then that
was probably it. They had some cute stuff pictured in that isle chart too!
Since we couldn't find any kitchen stuff there we decided to go to
K-Mart down the street because I knew for a fact that K-Mart had
Halloween kitchen decor when the hubby and I lived at our old Apt thats
basically all we had was a K-Mart and a grocery store! Anyway we
get to K-Mart and they have TONS and TONS of Halloween stuff especially
Kitchen decorations! It was so great I was just about to buy a
whole matching set of things when my mom tells me to wait and we will
got to Wal Mart and see if they have any different ones or they might
have something cuter. So with all the will I had in me I held off
and we left without buying an single, dang thing.
When we get to Wal Mart we look, and we look, and we look, for the
Halloween stuff but all we can manage to find are Halloween underwear
and pumpkin shaped baskets. So we finally get tired and ask
someone where thier Halloween stuff is and they give us a really weird
look and tell us to try the Garden Depot. We get in there and
they have TWO isles up with a bunch of plastic Halloween little kid
decorations and costumes........ It was the sorriest display I
had ever seen. It actually looked like they were trying to hide
it off from the rest of the store!! I was highly upset and my mom
was too because we so could have gotten everything we needed at
K-Mart. And it was too late in the day to head back over there
because it was a good 15 minute drive and we would of had to get back
on the interstate to get back over there. So we just got in the
car and called it a day. I can't believe the Wal Mart here though
I was high dissapointed. My mom said the one in my old hometown
was overflowing with Halloween stuff on the front isles when you walk
in the store!
Ugh, maybe because of the town I am in, it being rather small and
all. Gonna hold off any complaints though until Halloween
actually comes around. Never lived in this town before so I have
no idea how the local people react to Halloween around here. Just
about everyone in my new subdivision is from another state or
town. Just will have to see. I am going to remain skeptic
for now, but still decorate to the fullest and celebrate my Halloween
to the fullest.
